The Brave Star pattern is Pendleton’s contemporary interpretation of the American flag — a design that honors the extraordinary patriotism and service of Native Americans across centuries of U.S. history. From scouts carrying messages across the frontier in 1875, to service alongside Teddy Roosevelt’s Rough Riders, to combat in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, and Iraq, Native Americans have served with courage “above and beyond the call of duty.” Five have been awarded the Medal of Honor for that very phrase.
Brave Star blends modern asymmetry with vintage Americana. Its unique striations — achieved through pulled yarns — recall a time when natural plant dyes shaped every shade of cloth. The result is a fabric that feels both modern and deeply rooted.
