Summerland is built on heather gray the way a long afternoon is built on light. The ground is cool and even. Everything laid over it — cornflower, seafoam, wheat gold, copper, oxblood — arrives in horizontal bands like weather moving across open country, and the ivory holds it all together.
The geometry is the star. Serrated diamonds run edge to edge, each one framing an eight-pointed morning star with hatched lozenges stacked above and below it. Between them, terraced triangles climb in ranks toward the borders — the stepped mountain-and-cloud form that runs through Southwest weaving. Structured, radial, symmetrical. Every element points back toward the center.
Expansive. Cool-toned. Confident without weight.
The palette works in layers: heather gray and bone ivory as the field, then navy, sky blue, teal and seafoam running cool through the middle, and wheat gold, ochre, copper and oxblood bringing the warmth up underneath. Cool and warm in genuine balance, not one deferring to the other.
Woven as a true jacquard, this fabric presents two distinct color expressions on opposing sides. The face runs gray-dominant, with the ivory diamonds reading as light struck against a cool field. The reverse flips it — ivory carries the ground and the gray drops back, softer and more open. Same pattern. Different attitude.
Coat Colors:
Summerland works on any coat, but it's incredible on bays, blue roans, and red roans. The heather gray and navy read like they were pulled straight off a blue roan. On a red roan the copper and oxblood answer the same warmth in the hair. On a bay it does both at once — copper and oxblood against the body, navy and gray against the black points.
Saddle & Tack Leather:
Chestnut and harness leather warm it up and bring the copper forward. Dark oiled brown or black sharpens the navy and makes the whole piece read cooler and more graphic. Silver or stainless hardware follows the blue; brass follows the gold. Turquoise accents are the natural move and they do not disappoint here.
